What About Me?

Allow me to explain!

I was born in Washington, DC and raised in the beautiful town of Bethesda, Maryland. I was given the name Miriam, but my parents always called me Mim and it stuck! I grew up with one older brother, Max, whom I am incredibly close with. He now lives in Boca Raton in South Florida where he boats and fishes...constantly. Throughout most of my childhood, I danced ballet and took various art classes. Once I began High School, I left ballet to pursue my passion for art. Painting, drawing, sculpture, glass blowing, and pottery were all classes I found stimulating and exciting.

I continued this love of art when I chose to attend the College of Charleston. This quaint historical town had me in love at first sight. After taking my first Art History course to fulfill my humanities requirement, I had found my niche. I declared my major in Art History my second year of college and have learned more about the subject than I could have ever imagined. Now a senior, I am sad to be leaving such an enriching environment, but I will forever have the knowledge and memories that I cultivated here at the College.

Now, I work with a Bridal Registry Shop and I will continue to do so until I discover my new niche. A job with a gallery is a dream and a dream that is not impossible to reach, but for now, the transition to independence will be job enough! I am grateful I had the patience and curiosity to enroll in this Electronic Publishing and Design course because I have learned a great deal about a subject I knew almost nothing about. The skills I have gained from working with InDesign, Photoshop, and learning the ropes of Website coding are skills I will use forever!
